Providence and Rhode Island Friends... Join Safe on the Road for a Safe Streets Celebration Run!7/8/2021 Safe on the Road is thrilled to be hosting a Safe Streets Celebration Run, with support from the Providence Streets Coalition. We hope you'll join us later this month for some miles, snacks, and an opportunity to connect with other runners! WHEN: Thursday, July 22 at 6:30 pm WHERE: Memorial Park in Providence (off South Water Street, by Hemenway's and Brown University's School of Public Health) WHAT: A run to celebrate new pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure in Providence, helping to make our streets safer to run, bike, commute, and explore! Our run route is 3.6 miles (with options to add-on) and traverses some of the newest changes to our city's streets. We'll explore new additions to the Urban Trail Network and road safety improvements coming to Downtown, as well as old favorites like India Point Park and its bike path connections. All paces & abilities welcome - come walk, jog, or run and afterwards, enjoy some pizza, talk about runner safety, and connect with other runners and advocates who love safe streets! We will have Safe on the Road free "Share the Street" lawn signs and stickers for runners - show your safe streets pride! This Celebration Run is made possible by a grant from the Providence Streets Coalition "Safe & Creative Streets" mini-grant program - huge thank you to PSC for all that you do to make Providence safer for all road users!
